Press Release on AIPA’s Work Visit to Hungary
On November 17, 2011, Mr Nicolae CIUBUC, AIPA Deputy Director General had a bilateral meeting with Mr Miklós Drajkó, the deputy president of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency of the Hungarian Republic. This meeting took place within the study visit “Familiarizing with the process of working out and assessing strategic planning documents and related agricultural activities in the European countries (structural approaches, cost-benefit analysis and performance indicators)” carried out on November 13-18, 2011 in Budapest, Hungary.
During this meeting, the representatives of the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA) and those of the Hungarian Rural Development Agency presented the institutions’ specific activities, problems and difficulties occurring in its activity. They also mentioned the objectives of common interest related to the development of the support system for applicants for grants for agriculture and rural development, as well as the need to establish a unique institutional cooperation framework, in order to build AIPA’s capacities to access and efficiently manage agricultural and industrial funds. Thus, the parties agreed to sign an institutional cooperation agreement at the beginning of 2012.
In addition, during November 14-18, 2011, AIPA’s deputy director participated in the regional conference entitled “Support to facilitate the European integration of Albania and Kosovo and of the Republic of Moldova”. During the conference, specialists presented the Hungarian Government’s experience in the process of approximation to EU’s requirements and standards.. Discussions and exchanges of opinions were held with the Hungarian experts within the Ministry of Rural Development (including the leader of the negotiators team of Hundary’s Ministry of Rural Development , authorities responsible for food safety, other institutions involved in all s stages of accession of Hungary to the European Union.
The conference was organised with the technical support of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), as well as with the financial support provided by the UNDP “Transitional Capacity Support for the Public Administration of Moldova”.
